A Simple Guide to Your Health Screening

Feeling fine doesn't always mean everything is fine. Here's what a health screening involves and how to prepare.

Why get screened?

Many conditions — such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol — can develop silently with no obvious symptoms. A health screening helps detect these early, when they are easiest to manage.

What happens during the visit

At Sunray Medical Clinic, a screening usually includes a consultation with our doctor, a check of your blood pressure, height and weight, and any blood tests recommended for your age and risk factors.

How to prepare

Most tests don't require fasting, but for others you may be asked to fast for 8–10 hours beforehand. We'll let you know when you book. In the meantime:

  • Stay hydrated and avoid heavy meals the night before.
  • Bring your current medications and any previous test results.
  • Allow 30–45 minutes for your appointment.

What happens after

Most results are ready within 1–3 working days. Our doctor will explain the results with you in simple terms and help you plan any next steps.
